Chocolate fuge cake recipe. serv warm with chocolate topping.. gosh…*melt*

This recipe is also known as ‘Death by Chocolate’, if it is topped with chocolate ice cream and lashings of whipped cream.FOR THE CAKE
125 g (4 oz) butter
225 g (8 oz) dark soft brown sugar
2 eggs
142 ml (¼ pint) soured cream
175 g (6 oz) plain flour
5 ml (1 tsp) baking powder
2.5 ml (½ tsp) bicarbonate of soda
50 g (2 oz) Cadbury Bournville cocoa

FOR THE FILLING
40 ml (2 Tbs) Cadbury Bournville cocoa
125 g (4 oz) butter
150 g (5 oz) icing sugar, sieved
Vanilla essence

FOR THE FROSTING
200 g bar of Cadbury Bournville chocolate
40 ml (2 Tbs) Cadbury Bournville cocoa
142 ml (¼ pint) double cream

Two 20 cm (8-inch), shallow cake tins, greased and base-lined

For the cake, cream together the butter and sugar until the mixture is light in colour anti texture. Gradually beat in the eggs, and then the soured cream (the mixture looks curdled at this stage). Sieve together the dry ingredients and fold them into the mixture. Divide the mixture equally between the tins. Bake at Gas Mark 5/190ºC:/375ºF for 30 – 35 minutes, until cooked. Turn out on to a wire tray to cool.

Make the filling by mixing the cocoa with 40 ml (2 Tbs) of boiling water to a smooth paste, allow to cool. Beat together the butter, sieved icing sugar and essence, until light and fluffy. Beat in the cocoa. Slice the cake in half and then sandwich the halves together with the filling.

For the frosting, melt the chocolate carefully. Make the cocoa into a paste with water as before and mix with the chocolate. Slowly whisk the cream into the chocolate until smooth and thickened. Spread the frosting evenly over the cake with a palette knife.

Serve in slices, with whipped cream or ice-cream. If possible warm each slice in a microwave or oven, if you have made the cake in advance; it can also be served cold but is definitely more interesting hot, with the contrast of ice cream.

(I ate this in Waterford.. uahhhhhhhh *wantit*=

K, after having had a really nice friday and arrival in Vienna, Piper (the American CS @ C.’s) and me went out to get to know the city. C. was driving with us to the “Hundertwasserhaus” and showed us the “Prater”. The Hundertwasserhaus is pretty amazing and inspiring as well. We had a coffee ’round the corner in the “Kunsthaus Wien” which is also built by hundertwasser.

After having had that coffee C. dropped us off at an U, which brought us to the main shopping street..;)

WELL, so far so good. Then we got into this “not Pizzahut, looks like Pizzahut” place.

We got in there, got some space to sit down and it was kinmda “selfservice” So I wanted to order for Piper the special offer with one slice and a coke and for me just a whole pizza  (hey, I was pretty hungry). But the guy to whom I should order didn’t get it. After 3 explanations he got it, gave Piper her stuff and said that I should sit down and wait until my pizza is ready. When we paid our stuff (my pizza was 5.70) I gave him 10 euros. He asked me for another euro.. and was like (Hm? ok.. he might wanna give me 5 euros back), so I gave him 11 euros. And believe me or nothe just gave me 5 euros back. Then I asked him” Ehm, there are 30 cents missing, isn’t it?” He was like really grumpy “oh yes, yes, sure..” and gave me the 30 cents in 1, 2 and 5 cent pieces… Unbelievable!

Then I sat down waiting for my pizza. When Piper was nearly finished (all ppl around us were served) the guy was shouting through the whole room.. “Pizza here, ready!” I thought to myself, this can’T be true.. well… I picked up the pizza, wanted to got to go back to sit down, but the pizza wasn’T sliced! So I jkust turned around and asked if I should eat the pizza like  that. The guy didn’T give me any answer. But another women sliced the Pizza for me.

After we got out of that place we searched for my chocolate store.. I’m so addicted.. The crazy german girl haunting for chocolate. At least we found that store full of chocolate.  I had been so amazed. (bought chocolate for 24 euros…;))

Hm, then we met this toiletteguy which was also really strange and grumpy. first he wanted me to go with piper in one room. I said to him I don’t have to go to the toilett.  He got it after the 2nd time. then he started to talk to me really weird stuff about americans and whatsoever.. unbelievable. I was just in the mood to slap him directly into the face.

Afterwards we found a really nice street.. But hey, in Vienna shops are closing by 5pm.. and it was 5 to five. I love crafts so I wanted to go in there. Asked Piper for the time. When we got in there I was just asking “how much time do we have left?” The grumpy old woman told me “5 mins” so I told her: “oh, if I gonna buy something it’ll be 10, ok?” she answered:”Well, then u have to buy stuff for about 100 euros” and the other lady said: “not even then” WOW! How grumpy can u be?!

Then we made that citytour with the tram, laughing all the time cuz Pipers guide didn’t tell the right stuff or we went the wrong way whatever. Ppl stared at us, but we didn’t care.

Later on we got back to C.’s place to eat her delicious pasta. Had a lil nap, some coffee, and then we got out for Panopticum and flex.

When we got out of the tram a guy smashed a beerbottle to another guys head. The smashed one was fallen down and the other guy smashed his head to the tramwheels. He was lying down there like dead. Jimmy got him away from the tram. And I wanted to call the emergency call. So I dialed 110.. “we don’t know the number u have dialed” I was shocked.. How can that be.. I immediately asked another guy what’s the emergencycall in austria. 133 he told. So I dialed. The guy from the ec was so grumpy! I told him “we are at schwedenplatz etc..” and he was like “and what should I do now?” I war confused so I told him that I don’t know but I think he should send a ambulance or police. then I heard the policehorn. So I hung u. he was just like, “ok thanks” ok…weird. The guy was ok so far, very agressive but got up.. At this night we saw a lot of rightwing ppl… Panopticum is really nice. 70’s stile and chilly.

After calming down a lil I think all of us enjoyed the evening. though we all had the same feelings.. “strange day” Flex was also funny and nice. Had never seen such clean bathrooms in a club. Cool and relaxed ppl.. what else do u want?

When we waited for the night bus they opened the U half an hour earlier than usual.. there must have been something wrong that day..;) But well.. we got home, all well. Whatelse do we want? Stayed up a lil and had a nice conversation.

the next morning C. got up to say goodbye. she’s so lovely. After leaving I got to sacher to eat the famous sachercake (the schoeller one is better..;)) and by 1pm I got picked up to get home again.. A quick stop in muc for a coffee @ starbucks, leopoldstrasse. 11pm-home. I love shorttrips!:)

Hmmmm.. I get to love Europe.. It’s all so close together. I could do a daytrip from Vienna to Prague or Hungaria, Romania… Whatever.. I might do that next spring before I leave for Canada (would kinda great, don’t ya think?)

Vienna

Well, having 2 weeks off and not knowing what to do is a shame. So I just decided for a shorttrip to Vienna. Why Vienna? Do not ask me such questions… ;) Mostly my acting is intention..:)(And it leads me well.)

But one good reason might be: I have never been there!

Anotherone: I am DAMN bored.

Sitting on my couch dreaming of the adventures I want to take is not my lifestyle. And I need a vacation.. I work hard to make my dreams come true.. So I am allowed to push the “pause” button, don’T I? (I don’T need an answer..:P )

I already contacted Christine from the HC, she’ll give me a roof for 3 days if I want to. :) *thanks* So I just need a hitch or something.. let’s see. I like it the spontaneous way..

Ah.. dunno what to write.. let’s see what appears tomorrow..:)
